Oh boy...today only 14 pups...I hope everyone is feeling better soon!
WRITING
We are working on BLINGING out our sentences. Yes, Ms. Guy LIKES SPARKLE!! Today our challenge was to tell WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN and WHY and THEN pick a noun to add adjectives to!
One of my favorites started as:
"I carved my pumpkin." So I started asking questions... and it turned into...Last night, I carved my big, orange pumpkin on the the kitchen table for everyone to see on Halloween."
Can you say UH-mazing!
As wrtiers we are painting pictures...As readers we are creating mental images from text. Today we read
Alice, Where Are You Going?
Alice, where are you going?
Up the stairs to take a bath.
Alice with legs like toothpicks
And a neck like a giraffe.
Alice stepped in the bathtub.
Alice pulled out the plug.
Oh my goodness!
No control!
There goes Alice down that hole.
Alice?
Alice?
Gurgle, gurgle, glug.
When you read that poem what picture do you see? We also noticed that there were sound words in the poem so our image came to life like a MOVIE!
