Field Day
Weather Permitting
K-2 Robertson Elementary Field Day
Mr. I says the weather forecast is calling for some rain on Friday! (keep your fingers crossed this is wrong)
He has said he will make a decision on going ahead with field day or postponing it until May 21st on Thursday.
- tennis shoes
- shorts/comfortable clothing
- sunscreen/visor or hat
- TWO water bottles
I will let you know what is happening as soon as I know!
Well, today I was back in the classroom FULL time. Hands on teaching! And I LOVED it...We had an excellent day!!! We came in and got a lot of work done this morning. I am so impressed at the independence of this class. I was able to be at the reading table and everyone was able to work on things that needed to get done. At 10:00 Mrs. O'Hearn came in to talk about how we have changed since the beginning of the school year. As I listened in...I heard a lot about physical changes but then after the kids went back to their seats and started their puzzle I started to hear a lot more about their academic, social and emotional changes! It's amazing what a little reflection time can do for everyone!
Relay For Life

So, Friday morning rolls around...I pop out of bed at 4:30ish (pretty normal) get to school everything is going great...3:00 ALREADY!? Time to put the kids in their cars and go home for a few hours. NOPE talked into going to memorial to set up for Relay for life. Got the tents put up, put out some tables and chairs everything looks good we're ready to go. NOW I can go home and rest for a bit! Well, for some reason that was impossible...I tried to lay down and relax but nothing worked so at 6:3o I decided to head back over to Memorial Stadium! AARRRGGGHHH no parking. Finally, found a spot. Let the fun begin! And fun it was. However, as you can see by the photos...Miss Guy is the oldest participant in our group...So the later it got the more ready I was to go home and crawl into bed. Finally, at about 4:30 (yes, am...24 hours later) we decided to break down our camp. It was a GREAT night and all for a GREAT CAUSE! Please think about joining us next year...We had several families that came and walked for hour long shifts earlier in the night!

Let me start by saying...how lucky we have been to have Miss Caras and Miss Woodard in our classroom this year! They are both going to be amazing teachers. We like to hope that they will be teaching in Frisco or better yet Robertson next year!
Friday will be Miss Woodard's last day of teaching THIS year! However, we do plan to see her on field day!
With that being said...all I can say is AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH... Here it is 7:00pm and I'm still at school. I haven't been here this late in a VERY long time. But then again it is that time of year. Assessments and imputing data results! As I do this I am reflecting on how far our little ones have come in all areas! Academically, Socially, Emotionally and Behaviorally!! WOW...
My emotions are torn...On one hand I'm so excited for summer vacation...seeing my youngest sister (pregnant belly and all), decorating baby Thomas' nursery, hanging out with friends and my bubbas by the pool, a trip to the beautiful Florida beaches (keep that oil spill AWAY), and even professional development classes...The other hand says I won't be seeing my little dragons everyday! I'm so going to miss my, "Miss Guy, I love yous" from Eli and Kirstin, all the great stories and information that Ethan has to share each and every morning, Endya's BIG hugs and great dance moves, Nikolas' smile when he uses his BIG voice, Kaitlyn's willingness to help whomever whenever, the confidence Sofia has gained this year, Hannah's handwritten stories and letters, Zions excitement for everything, Lucy's amazing way with numbers, the pride I see in Gabriel's eyes when he finishes reading a book, Brista's kind and caring attitude, Morgan's compassion and ability to make friends with everyone, Manas' bubbles (I love those cheeks), Blakes ability to make us all laugh, Noah's drive to succeed, Luke's overwhelming ability to adapt and fit in, Parker's determination and Joel's strength and perseverance!
As I mentioned things are starting to wind down and it's time to start accounting for libraray books, guided reading books and anything else that needs to be returned to Robertson. All accounts must be cleared prior to report cards going home! So...If you have a lost book please make sure you are looking for it or have sent in replacement monies!
Have a great evening!

It is end of the year assessment time...Field Day is next Friday..end of the year party "Summer Fun" and some other surprises thrown in throughout!!!
