Don't forget...Texas Projects are due March 2-7! We want to have these displayed for OPEN HOUSE on March 8th!

We have been doing a lot to get ready for Open House and we hope to see you all there! Our expository writing from research  turned out GREAT!  We have illustrated and now we are ready to record in Photo Story!

We also did some narrative writing about our little camouflage fish! We are so excited for you to see all we've been working on!

Kennedi had a special lunch today with her Momma and Grandmother!

BIRTHDAY GIRL

WHALE FOOD
In Science today we compared the difference between a toothed whale and a baleen whale.  Some of the things they have in common: mammals, have blow holes, have live babies live in the sunlight zone. Some differences: Toothed Whales eat penguins and have teeth, Baleen Whales eat plankton and krill and have baleen (comb like) teeth. We listened to some sounds whales make in order to find their food.  Once they make a sound, they wait for the echo to come back. That lets them know how close food is.  After we listened to the sounds we played "Where is my Food".  Oh the whale "giggles" we heard!

WHAT TIME IS IT!!!

We made our very own clocks today in math!  The top layer is a normal clock...but hiding below each hour is how many minutes that number stands for as well!  We put our counting by fiives to good use!  This way the pups can check themselves.  First graders need to know to the hour and half hour...but you know us...we are ready to move on!
