And...that was day two!

Today we read a very special book, The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn.  I know many of your little ones have heard this book before...However, this was the perfect chance to talk about reading "old favorites"...books we never get tired of! For those of you that may
not know this book please have your 1st grader tell you all about it.  If they need a few reminders...the characters are Chester Racoon and Mama Racoon, the setting is nighttime in the forest in front of the school tree and the event is the secret kissing hand! After we read the story we made special kissing hand cards just for YOU!!! We know how much you miss your little ones when they are here with me!!

We revisited our circle maps and had a chance to share about ourselves with our table groups.  I was most impressed with the way the kids interacted and asked great questions. (I'm hoping to insert a video here...let's see if it will work!)
Well...a snag...videos posted to blogger are hosted on google videos which is a blocked site at school.  I will do my best to post from home while I'm waiting for a response to my request to have this unblocked for my use!

After lunch we discovered that our Reddy Freddy Book is missing some pages...(like 13 to be exact! OH MY...might have to start a new one tomorrow if we can't find the pages or a new book)
MATH TIME...we used two sided counters to show more and less! OH MY I ALMOST forgot...we WROTE ON OUR DESKS...how cool. (well...some were pretty impressed others had gotten to do that on their tables in kindergarten)
After we mastered more and less we used the counters to write some number sentences...

We then practiced packing up and getting ready to go for the day!  We ate snack a bit earlier today than yesterday and I think that made our hungry little dragons a bit happier!  Thanks to all of you that sent in water bottles today! :)
Another good day in room 313 and these are our Dragon Tales....
