College/Career Week

Classroom Visitor

Mr. Russell came to share about his job in sports medicine. He told us that he has worked with the Anaheim Angels and now works with some of the Dallas Mavericks.

Mr. Russell attended Boise State and Cal State

Owen had lots to remind his dad to say!
We learned that we need our heart muscle to keep working. If it stops our body doesn't work.
Mr. Russell has had to restart 3 hearts in his career.

To help prevent sports injuries it is important to warm up! Owen is demonstrating
high knees!
Thanks for coming in and sharing!

SCIENCE
We can...demonstrate and record the way things move.   We practiced with tops, cars and bouncy balls.

Look at it go...round and round.  Hopefully it won't hit anything to make it stop!

The bouncy ball moved in two different ways.
The cars...well...that's the way they roll...
I overheard someone say that they move by themselves. We will be talking more about that tomorrow.

MATH

Live on channel 313 at 12:30

We can create numbers using 10s and 1s and count using 10s and 1s.  Today we introduced rods and units. (base 10 blocks) We had a 10s spinner and 1s spinner and then we used the base 10 blocks to build the number.  Everyone had a partner to work with today!
