Special Assignment #2

Everyone MUST participate in this...comment to this post (please have your child type in his/her response) No later than Jan.17! One complete sentence. What makes a GREAT teacher? Please talk with your child about this and brainstorm lots of great, creative answers. Have them pick their favorite to use. ROCKS!!!

Today we played Catch A Clue. The kids were to guess what our new science topic was going to be based on clue #1...They are outside on the ground. clue #2...Some are very big, but most of them are small. Well, lots of us had to change our mind about what it could be. clue #3 They are not alive! A few got it by clue three but not everyone!
For the next week or two you may refer to us as geologist (scientist who studies rocks). We found out today that rocks are...shiny/dull, hard/soft, smooth/rough (properties), minerals, solid matter, non-living and not man made. Did you know that rocks are formed in the center of the earth? We are very excited about our newest studies! Please check your child's red folder for some "rock" homework!
