Making Text to Text Connections

Last week we read The Legend of the Bluebonnets and this week we are reading The Legend of the Indian Paintbrush both by Tomie de Paola. We have been making text to self, text to world AND text to text connections. Today we used a double bubble to compare and contrast these two stories. We made several connections and today we were to decide which connection was the most important...
"not being selfish. So you get what you need." -Kennedi
"unselfish and they get a sapiyz (surprise) from the Spirits." -Taylor
"both were onesefesh (unselfish). She how is alon acerfise her doll and the goofur listen to the spirits."
-Anna Richey
"unselfish if you be unselfish yole get something back too." -Ella
"unselfish because some times you will get what you wunt." -Emily
"unshefish you git a good quwaqins (consequence)." -Thatcher
"to not be sellfish if you dont you wont get wat you want if you do do it den you will get wat you want."
-Kreston
We had several friends talk about them both being about flowers and how the flowers came to be and that they were both called legends! GOOD JOB LITTLE PUPS!
