WOWZIE...
You all are going to have to start checking out our BLOG FOR PUPPIES! I introduced it to a couple of reading groups today and we already have a comment. Homework CHECK! Next computer day everyone will get to log in and start posting! We do have a few rules! Posts and comments should be in complete sentences...and comments must be "nice". I do have to approve everything before it can be visible as a "precaution"! Happy blogging PUPPIES!
Putting the Pencil to Paper
Boy howdy! The little pups worked so hard today! I think we are all ready for a nap!
This morning we reviewed our "secret code!" They are really grabbing onto to the editing concept, I'm so proud of them. After Writer's Workshop we read There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Books and that was a big hit! The pups each got a little booklet where they recalled the sequence of the crazy objects swallowed which was then glued into their interactive reading journal. Take a look!

Here is Catherine coloring the cover.
Here is Eliette gluing in her journal!
Austin decided to color then cut and glue so the picture wouldn't be soggy!
We all made it through recess and lunch unscathed and back to class to read our Ready Freddy book. In case you have been hearing about Ready Freddy by Abby Klein, the pups are crazy about this series and have been checking them out from the library.
We transitioned into Science afterwards the students had to predict what fruit I was describing the properties of. Some of my hints gave it away, but others I thought were tricky...I couldn't stump them. See if you can get your pup to describe the properties of fruit that y'all see!
Here is our daily weather report, courtesy of Darrin:
Great job Darrin!
In Math we continued our study of patterns. The pups worked with a partner and created their own patterns not based on color but by shape using tangram shapes. They then recorded their patterns and labeled them in their math journal. I couldn't even stump them when we discussed how even motions could be patterns! They picked up on it right away!
Remember:
1. Tomorrow is Wednesday and we will be wearing our Kiwi class shirts.
2. Tomorrow is also "National Walk to School Day" as Mr. Iorio reminded us this afternoon; we'd love to see how many friends we can get to walk to school!
We had a great day in Room 313 so I hope y'all have a good rest of the day as well. (Miss Moore will be taking a nap!)
