Whoa...
Where did the week go??? Tomorrow is Friday already. We have enjoyed our College/Career Week....
Today we had a special visitor...Can you guess what she does? Do you know who it might be???
She told us that she went to Wichita State University, in Kansas, to be a music teacher!
I could tell she LOVED playing her violin. We talked about LOVING your job!
We are hoping Eliette will bring her violin in and play for us as well!
THANK YOU for sharing your wonderful talent with us!
WRITER's WORKSHOP
Well...another snafoo...with my technological skill set! I took some pictures of the writing process this morning! After lunch Mrs. Snow came in, I quick grabbed the camera only to find out that the batteries were DEAD...I shuffled around in my desk, frantically looking for some double A batteries...NONE to BE FOUND. (Thank goodness for the trusty phone). I took that camera back to the library and asked (nicely I hope) for one of the cameras with a RECHARGEABLE batteries. (I do use that thing DAILY)! SWEET SWEET Mrs. Biamonte found one with all the bells and whistles for us. Charger, battery, cord and even a handy dandy case to keep it all in. BUT what does all this have to do with writing? I FORGOT to upload those pictures of the process so I could put them on the blog... GONE FOREVER...boo hoo! Take my word for it...there were some pretty awesome sentences about Scrappy the MEAN GREEN UNT mascot!
SCIENCE INVESTIGATIONS
Ms. Moore continued our conversations about force and how things move. Today we had a straw, a cotton ball and a target on our desk... How can we make the cotton ball move with out TOUCHING it towards the center of our target?
Looks like we've got that force thing figured out! I heard someone say, " if I blow to hard the cotton ball goes far."
MATH
We are still working on place value. Today we started to draw the value of our numbers! We have decided to color code our places. 1s place is red, 10s is blue and 100s will be green! We will use this all year long! Today it really helped us to compare and order our numbers based on the place value! WOO HOO
