What Great Pups!

Today was such an awesome day! (I have a chunk of my voice my back and it makes ALL the difference!)

This morning we quickly reviewed our "secret code" for proofreading and I sent them on their way! Quite a few of the pups finished their weather books as well as other pieces. The pups were so diligent that we got to listen to a few of our friend's pieces they had been working on. Here are some pictures:

Isabella was sharing about the new friend she made!

Aidan told us about his brother and the all the rocks he played with!

Cameron's favorite show is Spongebob Squarepants!

Miles used his BIG voice!

Claire talked about a friend's birthday party she went to!

Darrin finished his book about all different types of weather!

After our Writer's workshop, we recalled our story from yesterday; There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Books and then they asked me if they could make their own "old lady!" They read my mind so well, I just happened to have planned for that! I whipped out the tracers and Claire said "Miss Moore! You were already going to do that!" Too cute!

This is the beginning of the process, we ended up finishing them in math because...well, you'll see!

In Science they came back and found that stations had magically appeared while they were gone to lunch and recess...who knew? Each pup got an interactive notebook to glue into their Science journal. They then rotated through three different stations. At Station 1 the pups used a primary balance to determine which fruit was heavier. Station 2 allowed them to use a hand lens to get a good look at the differing textures of the fruit. Their observations were recorded in their notebook. Station 3 was the most popular, we had a bucket filled with water and plunged different fruits into the water to see which would float! Take a look at these smart pups!

Cameron graced us with his weather report today!

Way to go Cameron!

In Math, we continued our work with patterns, however we did so by continuing our work with our "old lady!" Her stockings are made up of patterns created by the pups! Here is a sneak peek, but you can get a better look when you come to your conference on Monday!

The pups also practiced writing their numbers 1-100 and got some problem solving journal time in to! I have to brag on them because they REALLY worked during math (all day, really) but give them a pat on the back, because I gave them an extra big hug today as well!

Just a reminder:
Tomorrow is Picture Day!

And with that, I leave you, have a WONDERFUL night!
